About Me
Hi, I’m Terrence — and I’m running for School Board in South Milwaukee.
Before you vote on April 7th, you probably want to know more than just my name… and honestly, that’s fair. I could give you random facts — like how my favorite meal is steak, I’m a huge Marvel fan, or that I’m originally from Burnsville, Minnesota (please don’t hold that against me). But the things that really matter can be summed up in three simple points:
1️⃣ I’m a husband and proud girl dad
My wife Courtney and I have been married for 15 years, and together we’re raising three incredible daughters — ages 13, 10, and 3. Yes, that means plenty of emotions, drama, and tears… and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Being a dad has shaped how I listen, lead, and show up for others, and I truly believe I was meant to be a girl dad.
2️⃣ My life’s work is helping students and schools thrive
My entire adult life has centered around supporting young people and education. My college degree focused on caring for others, and for the past 10 years I’ve worked as a motivational speaker in schools across the country. I’ve partnered with educators, administrators, and school boards to help reach students and build stronger, more connected communities.
3️⃣ My family is rooted right here in South Milwaukee
We don’t just live here — we’re involved here. Whether it’s volunteering, working in the city, playing on local sports teams, or helping backstage on school productions (yes, one of my daughters is on the tech team), my family is proud to be active members of this community.
So if you see me around town, don’t hesitate to say hi. I’m always happy to talk about sports, movies, or — especially — Marvel (comic books included). South Milwaukee isn’t just where we live — it’s home, and I’m committed to helping make it even better for our kids and families.
I’m running for School Board because I believe in South Milwaukee — and I believe our schools are the heart of this community. Our school district is where lifelong friendships begin, where families connect, and where the relationships that shape our city are built. Many of us know each other because we grew up in these schools, or because our kids learn and grow together today. When our schools are strong, our community is stronger — and I’m running to help make sure South Milwaukee continues to be a place where students, families, and neighbors thrive together.
Why Am I Running?
South Milwaukee is so connected through our schools, there was an instance we told someone where we lived in South Milwaukee, and this person knew who our neighbors were and the people our neighbors dated in high school! What happens within our schools and the people in our schools impacts our whole city. I want to make sure that our heart here is protected and cared about. I want to make sure our schools are cared about as much as I care about my own students.
As a father, I encourage my daughters to be the best they can be because I believe deeply in their future. That same belief extends to every student in South Milwaukee. I want to help ensure our schools provide the support, opportunities, and encouragement our kids need to thrive. I believe in our students, I believe in our community, and I believe in the future we can build together — by strengthening the heart of South Milwaukee: our schools.
